What is Dimensional Formula of Kinematic viscosity?
Posted in Dimensional Formulae | Email This Post |Kinematic viscosity is defined as the ratio of ability to diffuse a disturbance in momentum to ability of sustaining the original momentum.
Mathematically,
Kinematic viscosity (ν) = Dynamic viscosity (μ) / Density (ρ).
Dimensional Formula of Dynamic viscosity = M1L-1T-1
Dimensional Formula of Density = M1L-3T0
Putting these values in above equation we get,
Dimensional Formula of Kinematic viscosity = M0L2T-1
SI unit of Kinematic viscosity is m2s-1
I want you to help me solve this question, show that the kinematic viscosity has the primary dimension of L^2T^-1.
