What is the formula for Coefficient of viscosity of a liquid?
Posted in Friction In Solids and Liquids | Email This Post |Coefficient of viscosity of a liquid is defined as the viscous force acting per unit area between two adjacent layers of a liquid with a velocity gradient normal to the direction of flow of the liquid.
The formula for Coefficient of viscosity (η) of a liquid is given as,
where F= viscous force , A = Area , (dv/dx) = velocity gradient
η = F / A(dv/dx) .
SI unit of Coefficient of viscosity (η) of liquid is kg m-1 s-1.
This is really lovely, kudos to yah
Nice
I wanner to learn something
Hello sir. The gradient of velocity, dv/dx, for honey would be more than that of water. When applied in this formula, we will see that the coefficient of viscosity, and thus, the viscosity of water is higher than that of honey. Which is obviously not true. Please explain. Thanks.
